Why Marry?

                                       Marriage

'Marriage is a tradition followed and passed on by the ansistors of humans to their generation after generations. In this tradition two persons( mostly of opposite sex) get bonded together and is believed to last until death and after.'

It is the way of  living, where people learn to limit their desire and get satisfied. It is the bonding that compells two people to live for each other. In marriage not only two person but two family of different tradition, belief, sometimes religions get bonded in relationship.

Have you ever wondered?, despite of various religions, traditions, belief, god and goddess, there is still similarities in the traditions followed all over the world. Marriage is the greatest example to prove that all the religions around the world are same like various rivers connected to the ocean, as the ultimate destination.

Why do people have culture and traditions like marriage followed by generation after generations? Why is it common in all the religion? Why has god, son of god, messangers of god, enlightened one and almost all who claimed to have a connection with lord the supreme almighty supported this tradition called Marriage? Have you ever wondered in such a way? Traditions and rituals are completely different from each other but all have the same goal in marriage. It looks like chocolates of same taste, size, color or quality wrapped in different wrappers?

Well! the answer is very simple we are all here today to disappear some day. We are all born to die. The attachment is what brings us back to life, according to hindu religion. This is what Jesus too followed. Watch closely and you will find the same followed by Mohammed, Buddha, or any other enlightened born. This body that we have is just to get destroyed one day. How long will you live? Sit back, relax, count the number of days you have lived then calculate how many years more you have left? 100?, 200?,or 1000 years?

I don't think I need to tell you the answer. Marriage is a tradition to limit your desire and destroy it forever. So....

'Kill your desire before your desire kills you'. Desires are like horizon, it looks like it is limited, but the truth is, its only an illusion created. The more you try to go near the further it goes away. Limit your desire become pure like Jesus, Buddha and so on because soon you will only be in people's memory. Your Lord, the most supreme is pure so be pure to reach 'The Pure'.

Pray, meditate, sing hyms do as it pleases you, always stay connected to your master, your creator. Kill your desire even if it is to reach heaven or staying away from hell. Let your creator deside it for you, and you, you just lose yourself in his prayers, praises, meditation and so on. Let there be he and only he in all your memory.

                                     Lord bless you all.

Dashain

During the month of Kartik (between September and October), Nepalese (specially Hindus and Buddhists) all around the world, unite together to celebrate the greatest festival of the year...

                                                        Dashain

Dashain is the longest and the most auspicious festival in the Nepalese annual calendar. It lasts for fifteen days and is celebrated among the hindus and the buddhists. The fifteen days celebration falls in between September and October, starting from the bright lunar until the full moon. In this festival the almighty goddess Durga in all her manifestations are worshiped with innumerable offerings and prayers.

Dashain is not only celebrated in Nepal but in almost all the countries where hindus live. Each have their own ways to please 'Maa Durga Bhawani" or goddess Durga. Dashain commemorates the great victory of the gods over the wicked demons and evil spirit, or the victory of truth over false. Hindu saints and educated beings often preach that this festival is an oppurtunity to change one's evil mind into good. Since hinduism claims that the human is the bridge-link between animal and god, one should always focus on moving upwards to reform onself into god. It is described that one's sins or bad works turns him/her into an animal and he/she tends to move downwards in their next birth. And virtue or good works turns him/her into god or goddess which means he moves upwards. So this festival is often taken as a chance to change onself.

This festival is also meant to teach the mankind the importance of women and also forces the men to respect women. There are ofcourse people and religion around the world who take this festival as the festival of evil celebrated by the hell dwellers after death. Well whatever others say, this festival here is festival of joy, blessings, happiness and so on.

Dashain is also termed as Vijaya Dasami ( ten days of Victory). Goddess Durga and her nine different forms are worshipped for nine days respectively. I shall describe more about Dashain in my next blog for now i leave you with pics of dashain being celebrated in a home. hope you will enjoy
